An Open Letter to 2017
Dear Twenty-Seventeen (2017),
Finally, you are here with endless possibilities and opportunities. Hope you’ll not be just another year in my life. Let your presence count in this short life.
As they say:
“It’s Not the Years in Your Life That Count. It’s the Life in Your Years”
Failures:
2016 was an interesting teacher. It made me take up the lessons which I refused to take up previously. I hope you too have something boxed for days to come. I try my best to learn from them. Keep growing faster.
I can’t accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.
Hopes and Resolutions:
As you are fresh with a lot of dreams to bloom, I hope you fulfil my resolutions come true. I hope you help me fulfil my bucket list. I hope to become more humane with empathy, love towards people.
We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope. -Martin Luther King, Jr.
Happiness:
Life is all about happiness. I promise to spread happiness by my presence. I promise to see good in everything. I’ll not let you steal my happiness. Whatever I do, will be the that makes me happy.
Happiness is a choice, not by chance.
Exploration:
It was great exploring with 2016 to some exotic places meeting interesting people. But I hope you to take me unexplored areas of mother earth. I urge you have a check on my bucket list and escort me to new exotic places and people. Life is all about you see, feel and experience.
To travel is to live.
Resilience:
It was a tug of war with 2016 with lots of highs and lows. I hope you too come up with the same game on the different ground. But I promise to play well with the experience and scars of 2016. I hope you will give plenty of room to introspect. I’m anticipating you will offer the best by leaps and bounds.
I’m not what happened to me, I’m what I choose to become.
Looking forward to the beautiful days ahead.
Sincerely,
-aficionado
