IoT with Cloud Workshop in Goa | An exhilarating experience
Got invited for STTP (Short Term Training Programme) workshop at Don Bosco College Of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa in collaboration with SDMCET Engineering College, Dharwad. It was workshop on IoT with Cloud. It was an exhilarating filled with people and experiences which I would like to share.
The following captioned “Sometimes in the waves of change we find our direction ” was captured by Govind Neglur. Thanks to his efforts.
Day 1:
The Journey started in Innova with SDMCET staff. Took 3 hours to reach along the western ghats. It was delightful passing through woods. On Day 1 Ravindra Dastikop, my GodFather gave a keynote address on Cloud Computing and IoT. Later Mr. Mayur and Mr.Govind took over the sessions on hands-on Google Forms, Quizzes, Spread-Sheets with SQL Queries, Google Documents with editing in regional language, Google Slides, Google URL Shortener, Mind-Maps, Blogger and embedding all the above in Blogs, Google Groups. At the day end we had dinner at Cinnamon Restaurant, Monte Hill, Margao, Goa.
Day 2:
On day 2, at workshop hands-on Google App Engine and IBM Bluemix was covered. For hangouts we took few vehicles for rent. I preferred Honda Navi for Rs.250 per day. Honda Navi is fun to ride. But a caution in advance, it won’t be comfortable for tall people. It won’t even have fuel gauge. Fuel capacity is around 3.5 litres and mileage of around 55km/litre. He are few pics of the experience.
Day 3:
Day 3, my talk on virtualization. Shared my knowledge on virtualization concepts. Later hands-on session of virtualization. By noon we successfully created Private Cloud for storage locally using OwnCloud.
Evening, we explored Colva beach. We had dinner at 49ers restaurant near Colva Beach. The lights tempted me to capture them. This is what I tried with my photography.
Day 4:
Myself took seclusion from workshop to explore Goa. Morning ride to Benaulim beach, Goa with Mayur, Shashidhar and Govind. It was far better beach than Colva beach. Got some good shots here. Here are few to share with.
Evening we planned to Panjim. It was ride of 2 hours in traffic.
On the way to Panjim we visited Dona Paula view point. This guy was lucky enough to grab my attention.
Later we head towards to Miramar Beach. This moment of child with mother was a bliss to watch. Worth capturing.
Thanks to Mr.mayur tempation to visit Maruti Temple, Nanu Tarkar Pednekar Rd, Altinho, Panjim. This is how I tried to capture the same temple.
Next in hunt of resturant, on the way “Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church” caught our attention.
Day 5:
Took a solo journey towards banks of Sal River, Mobor beach and betul beach. The journey started at 6:30 am from Sincro Hotel towards Mobor beach via The Leela hotel, Holiday Inn Resort (some expensive chain of Hotels) along the bank of Sal River. If ever go to Goa, I recommend a trip along the bank of Sal River. It was liberating experience like Kerala backwaters with ships. Have a look at following shots, you’ll get why I’m recommending it.
It was fun to meet few Kannidigas at Goa. Thanks to Dastikop wisdom. Mayur Patil sarcastic wisdom punch lines. Govind Sir coolness. Mr. Anand ‘s cool coordination. Mr. Shashidhar’s insights. Thanks to Goa government for well managed tourism. Thank to Amrita Metri (workshop coordinator) and HOD Mr. Gaurang S Patkar for their help and support.
Overall it was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious experience.
Hope you like my photography. Let me know about them in comments.
